Work-at-home and Work in Comfort!

The Recipe Box

Breakfast provides excellent nutrients, along with the necessary energy to help our children to concentrate and stay focused in school.  This makes breakfast the most important meal of the day for our children.

Every morning I prepare a great-tasting nutritious breakfast for my 13-year-old son.  He loves "my" oatmeal.  I make it the way my mother makes it and believe me, it is delicious! (Sorry, I can't share the recipe!)

Some mornings I make him an egg sandwich with famous bread.  Famous bread is a special bread I make that my whole family loves.  My kids gave it the name famous bread!  I cook eggs with turkey bacon and famous bread and sometimes my son will eat cereal.  His favorite cereals are,  Kix, Wheaties or Corn Pops.

After eating his breakfast, my son is alert, wide awake and full of energy.  Yes, his tank is full; he is full of energy and ready to go to school!!!

Mealtime Moments

At dinner, when the entire family is gathered together, we share a little of our hearts with each other.  We talk about this and we talk about that.  NO matter what we're talking about, we just love the fact that we are together creating and sharing those special mealtime moments creating lifetime memories!

After School Snack Attack

Mini Pizzas for the Perfect & Oh So Tasty After School Snack

When my two children, ages 12 and 17 get home from school, they are ravenous and always looking for something to eat.  I want to share with you my own pizza recipe that is absolutely delicious and it has that one special element that parents want for their children, NUTRITION!

Ingredients

I Small Mama Lucia Pizza Crust

Ragu Spaghetti Sauce (or you can make your own)

1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese

Olive Oil

Onion Powder

Garlic Powder

Take one pizza pie for a personal pan pizza.  Drizzle olive oil over the pie; add a little garlic and onion powder to olive oil for taste.  For your delicious sauce, whether it is Ragu or if you're going to make your own sauce, add these ingredients for great tasting sauce; pepper, garlic and onion powder, a dash of sugar and Italian seasonings.  Top your pie with your sauce, add mozzarella cheese.  You can also add your own toppings, broccoli cuts, or whatever your children like.  Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees.

This is one snack that my children gobble up.  They love it and I'm sure your children will too.  The secret is in the sauce!!!

For extra added nutrition, I give my children a tall glass of water.  Water does a body good.
