I can hear the school bell ringing already and everytime I think about it, I envision that Staples commercial where the father is elated and super excited that the kids are getting ready to go back to school, but the kids are dreading it!! How cute and how true!!!
My sister has a nine-year-old son and she decided not to send him to camp this summer; my oh my what in the world was she thinking. She keeps telling me that she cannot wait for school to start and all I can do is laugh. She started shopping for school supplies at Wal-Mart and so have I. As my daughter prepares to leave for college I am preparing for my youngest to go to high school and so I am shopping for a list of everything it seems. While I'm shopping, I'm also shopping for supplies for my home-based businesses. With my son awaiting his school schedule, I am slowly putting together my work schedule.
I am excited to share with my audience my Christmas Letters from Jesus and from Santa for the little people this Christmas season. I also have my two books that I want to share with the world because I think it is going to bless a whole lot of households.
What are you up to. With the new school year quickly approaching, are you gearing up to start or perhaps grow your business. I am so excited and with Moms in Slippers taking off once again, I just can't wait to help those who are in need of starting their home-based secretarial business.
I'm off to the market to do some more shopping. Won't you join me!!!
I've been running Moms in Slippers, along with my other small businesses for quite some time and have learned much about this internet business.
There are so many things one must do to be successful with an internet business; it's not enough to possess a talent, a skill or a gift.
One of the most important aspect of an internet business is networking. It is just another link in a business that is supposed to help grow your business. I have to be completely honest and say that I wasn't really networking, but I was still getting a ton of traffic.
Just recently, after speaking with a consultant, she suggested that I join the following networks and I would like to share them so here they are:
Facebook
Twitter
Merchant Circle
Woman Owned
Ning
Direct Matches
These are just some of the networks that I have joined recently. Can I say that it's made a difference? No, I don't think as far as my businesses are concerned, but getting to know and help those in search of owning their own business, I have to say yes.
Are you a mother who stays home because you choose to or have you found yourself in the home because you're torn between working for someone or for yourself.
When I stop to think about all the years I worked for someone else at a minmal wage, with a cap on my salary, all the cons come to my mind reminding me of what I call the horrors of working in a traditional, in a cubicle, my co-workers and I all separated by a wall. There was no joy, there was no laughter, there was no talking, just strictly work eight hours a day, five, sometimes six days a week. This for me was not living; it was working my fingers to the bone to help make someone else rich. Yes, to help someone else to live a highly and very comfortable lifestyle driving the most expensive cars, not having a worry as to how they are going to pay their bills and me, well, my pay was halfway decent, but I knew that if I continued to work for someone else, I was never going to be able to enjoy the kind of lifestyle I wanted and certainly the kind of lifestyle I knew I deserved. And though expensive and fancy cars are not a necessity, but are merely material objects, I knew it would be nice to at least experience the comfort and convenience of being able to hop in my own vehicle and drive anywhere I wanted to. A house on the other, or should I say a roof or shelter was a necessity, but it was the kind of house that I envisioned for myself and my family.
I knew that if I wanted a nice spacious home, I had to stop and think about becoming my own boss using the skills, abilities, talents and the amazing gifts God had given me. This, for me, has been one of the very best decisions I could ever have made.
Working for myself has blessed me with many rewards, not just monetary, but in other ways. Being home for my children was an important factor in starting my own business and the best part about being your own boss is that I have been able to leverage my business, start new businesses, not just for myself, but to bless, help and support other people, not just moms, as well; this is what I live for and this is my goal.
One of my ultimate goals is to help single mothers. In this role, my dream is to help position single mothers in a role where they can be the best mothers for their children thereby equipping their children with the tools they will need to succeed.
So it is that I press for the mark as I continue to work towards accomplishing all the goals and dreams that are in my heart.
If you've been thinking, dreaming and wanting to start your own business, a non-profit organization to help grow lives, why not take the first step towards fulfilling your dreams. Your life will be forever changed.
